Hard to believe, but it's almost been a decade since the original release of Internet Explorer 6. What's even harder to believe is that we still have to maintain cross browser compatibility with it!

Still holding a 20% share on everyday browser use, it's an annoying but justified procedure to make sure website code renders correctly in IE6. That means implementing the workarounds, the hacking, or whatever it takes to get it behaving the same way as a modern browser.

That said, I wanted to share the easiest possible way on earth anyone could possibly test IE6 with Firefox. Just in case someone hasn't already heard of the awesome project known as Spoon.

Everyday and every night, throughout all far reaches of the planet, there exist artists, designers, and CSS gurus who are developing the coolest looking new websites. For your viewing pleasure. And a simple bookmark can capture their design for an eternity (or until a server issue, but that never happens).

Over the past year, I have cultivated a thorough supply of these bookmarks; entailing several hundred in fact.

Of this massive collection, I have carefully selected only the best one hundred - and have placed them in this specific order, based on a complex algorithm of nerd website standards.

Although the algorithm is closely guarded, I can reveal indeed the nerd standard comprises of impressive artistic style, clean coded CSS, well organized typography, tasteful colors, and creativity.

Herein lies the top 100 Best CSS Designs of 2008. Congrats to the skilled persons behind each of these impressive designs. You have now reached nerd status.

p.s. - wait a minute, it's February already ? Okay we are certainly we are well into 2009 for another "08" list - but better late than never. Last year you also received the Nerd Business Top 100 CSS Design award list so certainly I am true to my annual obligations, even if they are a bit late. Enjoy !

From big budget to small budget, intense to simplistic, this is one monster of a top 100 compilation! Take a moment to enjoy this year's best designs the world has to offer. Each site is rated in order of uniqueness, visual quality, and overall presentation.

The arduous process of identifying the top 100 designs of 2007 was simple: find the best, new designs (including redesigns) of 2007 and rate them in order from 100 to one. With particular emphasis on new trends with clean CSS layouts, vibrant colors, amazing artwork, and damn good design skills.

Some designs are just stunning. As a nerd business owner and designer myself, I have, throughout 2007, collected these stunning designs as bookmarks and I'm sharing the links with you for your own viewing benefit. The original list consisted of about 190 hand picked designs AND just so I didn't miss anything I relentlessly scoured the archives of various CSS Gallery sites (who specialize in this type of thing) so that no one was missed.

Enjoy the Top 100 CSS Designs of 2007 below:
