In this collection, my nerd friends and I have mined some of the best sources of wallpaper (InterfaceLift, Deviant Art, and others). Sure, free HD wallpapers are plenty available if one is so inclined to search for them. Yet the biggest advantage of this post is that each of the wallpapers are hand picked - ensuring only the absolute most impressive walls are featured. If you are a nerd - these will appeal to you.
How to setup a daily wallpaper rotation
With this near infinite supply of HD wallpapers you'll have the benefit of a fresh new desktop every day. Here is the easiest way to setup a 'daily rotation' - whether you're running Windows, Mac, or Ubuntu.
Windows
With the introduction of Windows 7, Microsoft finally gave users a more robust way to organize wallpapers. Right-click the desktop and then go to 'Personalize' from the context menu. The Personalize menu will open up so now click on the 'Desktop Background' near the bottom. Here is where you can specify a folder that Windows will look for wallpapers in. You can also specify a frequency of rotation as shown below.
Ubuntu
Ubuntu doesn't have a built-in wallpaper rotation feature out of the box (although KDE does). So search the Ubuntu Software Center for Desktop Drapes. It's a lightweight tool that will automatically shuffle and rotate your wallpaper on a set interval.
Mac OS
On a Mac, it's very simple. Just click the desktop and choose "Change Desktop Background". From there you can set the wallpaper folder and the change frequency.
